Who
is Amanda Esquivel?
Amanda and her family have called Garland home since 2012 — the longest Amanda has ever lived anywhere. Originally from the Houston area, Amanda grew up in a family that moved frequently due to financial challenges. Finding stability and establishing roots in a community was always a priority for her, and that’s exactly what she has done in Garland.
Not only is Amanda a proud Garland resident, but she is also an active local business owner. In 2014, she opened her counseling practice, Room for Change, right here in Garland, where she and her team of 40+ counselors have helped countless individuals and families navigate life’s challenges.
Amanda’s commitment to her community goes beyond her business. She dedicates her time to volunteer work with organizations that support marginalized groups and is passionate about mentoring others. She also serves on the Garland Chamber of Commerce Board, where she advocates for opportunities that benefit local businesses and residents.
At home, Amanda is married to her long time sweetheart, Chad, and together they have two daughters, Avery and Farrah. Their family is rounded out by two dogs, Pepe and Maple, along with guinea pigs and fish.
Amanda’s roots in Garland, her business leadership, and her volunteer work reflect her dedication to making the Garland community a better place for all. Her bid for City Council District 3 is a continuation of that dedication.
